Theeba Motorsport took to the track at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli for the team’s first ever Sprint round in the 2023 Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe.
Fabian Schiller – filling in for Ralf Aron – secured a fifth in-class finish in qualifying on the Saturday morning, and started the first stint of the one-hour race in the afternoon.
After a successful pit stop from the team, Reema took the wheel and returned to the track fourth in-class, where she remained for the remainder of her short stint. The race ended with Reema just 2.869 seconds away from a podium finish.
Sunday proved to be more of a challenge for the team. Reema took her turn in qualifying and despite securing a fourth in-class result, exceeding track limits resulted in the team losing that position and starting eighth in-class.
The race was then short lived, as an incident on the final corner on the opening lap resulted in a tyre puncture. After limping to the pits, the team discovered further damage to the car, and made the decision to retire from the race.
Despite the DNF, the team had a strong showing throughout the weekend, showing much progress in their debut Fanatec GT World Challenge season.

It is a sad way to end a weekend that was looking good until then. Finishing just outside the podium on Saturday meant that we were in the fight. The team delivered a great car and Fabian did a brilliant job to step in this weekend. We will take the positives and prepare for Nurburgring in a couple of weeks.
